Ideas for new backgrounds.

We've got to make this game as cool as possible! If you have an idea of how it could be better, say it already!!

Ideas for new backgrounds.

Wouldn't it be cool if we had more backgrounds to choose from? Think of the "yay's"! :3

My background ideas:
  • First of all, Custom Backgrounds! This can make anybody's dreams come true!
  • Flower fields! The beauty of it all!
  • A starry-night sky! (Lay down and watch the stars!)
  • A blue-colored outer space background! (We could use more of them.)
  • Miscellaneous outer space backgrounds. (Including different kinds of outer space phenomena.)
  • Some kind of volcanic background.
  • Ominous, cloudy skies! (me like)

My biggest Last Legacy project!
It all comes together right here!
Join the fun and make the list!

This is kinda possible with triggers, but it's buggy, difficult to implement, and requires the player to be running at 30 FPS.

This here represents what suggestions are there for, in the first place.

Of course, one can do a majority of things, via triggers. I think, the LDer shouldn't rely mainly on the 'do it yourself' mindset, especially when we're talking about things like backgrounds and alike.
It's supposed to give easy access to people with little to no knowledge about basic coding without restricting the level designer itself too much, once you're lacking specific skills.

I mean. I saw more than enough people who're struggling with things, I did never imagine one could get problems with. You cannot expect anyone to be capable of doing custom backgrounds via triggers.
It sounds more than legit to me, when people are talking about frustration, regarding creating 'easy' stuff and fail by doing so, because it's either taking too much effort or they're simply lacking the skills for that moment.

And I can imagine that copy/pasting stuff from other more advanced level designers isn't that much of a clean solution either. (I'm almost certain that there are more than enough people who're doing that. Especially when it comes down to trigger work.)

Last but not least. As you mentioned. The performance drops a lot, by using these.
