Darn it. I slipped a spot. Well, the last one was 1/4 done and I had planned a lot, and this one was a little more than 3/4 done and I tried to do twice as much. Maybe next contest...

Congrats to the winners. You gave me a lot of ideas for next time, that's for sure. Great work. You deserve the medals.

things you might have missed: show
Subtle Bits:
  • There was a sequence of triggers if you did not find the weapons in the wall at the beginning, and it leads you right to them with thoughts from the main character as he bounces back and forth past the point.
  • The snow gets gradually stronger as you get towards the top.
  • Every single enemy said a clue to something about the level when they died.
Unfinished mechanics:
  • The Dark Beast above the door to the room with the crates was supposed to drop the key to the door, which was supposed to be locked.
  • The final boss's death was supposed to make a bunch of boulders fall from the ceiling outside his room, giving access to the top. The rocks wouldn't move due to a glitch.
  • Yup. The enemies were supposed to disappear after you defeated them.
  • The level was supposed to be almost twice as big as it was.
  • I had wanted a shop for at least one of the items (as further justification for the old man on the far side of the spikes), but had issues making the enemies drop money.

Yeah, so in the end it was pretty clear my level was unfinished. Still, I got 3rd and I'm really pleased with that.

Dont be crazy if I abuse lennies ,please ,seriously I love those , same thing if I talk everyday on shadows effect in the LD ,but I like making 160 objects in one single 17x22 screen.

A few steps earlier I'm getting warned about the frozen stuff coming out of the black water.
Even hurt myself accidentally on the very first time I get to see them.

Due to the same behaviour as the earlier frozen, black water, I expected this right one to hurt me.
I do see that you used a different colour scheme to avoid misunderstandings. But I only realized this a good bit later. So yeah. It still feels misleading to me.
