How about a pure Hero vs Doppleganger? Canon, plus gives some structure to the concept. Clearly, they are enemies.

Also, it could be a spinoff game. It doesn't need to be worked into the main series. Better yet, have only developer made levels for the arenas, and no LD, BUT you can earn a mode to be able to paste level code generated from the main series for a special arena.

We're in the process of redrafting the entire story to cemeant who that is. I believe in all current drafts, the relationship between the two characters simply isn't just enemies.

Regardless, netcodes suck.
