Delta?

How do the Delta powers work? I mean like a logical explanation...? Does the character create (and destroy) matter? Or does he, I dunno, borrow it from another universe? Don't get me wrong, I love this game mechanic, but can anyone explain it, or am I stupid because Runouw (or other devs) has already said it?

Another good questions is "how does the hero do it?" Furthermore, what you refer to as "delta" is only half of the picture.
